1 Month later, I'm in Africa

Hello everyone. I'm almost at the end of my journey to Africa now. The ship has stopped in Walvis Bay, Namibia, for our last call before Cape Town, where I'm scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. I'm about to run out of time here, but I just wanted to point you to some photos I've FINALLY been able to upload:

Hey did you find an ingenious way to hook up your bike to the ship so you could add to its power thus literally "pedal to Africa"? That would be awesome.

Hey Alex
What did you think of Walvis Bay? We stopped there avec' the rest of the whebles a fair few years back. It was amazingsly busy place for Namibia in comparison to the rest.

Happy Eater by the way Alex, did the Easter bunny visit your ship?.

Hope you meet up with Keith's partents ok, I'm sure you will have a really lovely time staying with them. Give them a bit hug from us. Lisa x

Hello Alex,

The boat trip sounded horrendous... it would literally be on my top 5 things i'd never want to do list, although i am an inbred geordie.

Good luck on the cycle and hoping your health has improved... make sure you're tooled up.

Let me know when your sponsorship starts.. i'm thinking i could send you a crown t-shirt and a comedy cheque for a nice bit of global warming PR shit... in all seriousness we are launching offsetbingo.com, you could be the face!

Some responses:

May: I did find a way to hook up my bike as it happens! For two days off the coast of Ghana the ship's engine powered down and we proceeded under Alex-Power for 131 nautical miles. My thighs are now each the size of a container (20ft, not 40ft, obviously).

Lisa: I didn't actually visit Walvis Bay, I sped straight through it to the South African packed resort town of Swakopmund. Swaopmund is a fair bit busier than Walvis. I didn't thin that much of it, but I was in a bad mood because I slept badly and couldn't straighten my neck, so I'm not going to judge it!

The easter bunny visited my ship in force. The Polish (well the Roman Catholics) take easter much more seriously than I ever have. There was a huge amount to eat, chocolate and otherwise.

Hug passed on :)

Nick: I've just read your comment, but I am in Cape Town - are you here as well then?

Dan: Yeah, you would have hated it Dan. That's all there is to it.

Lau: Health is in deed on the mend, I will post an update shortly, since lots have been asking, and I have been cagey about it for a while now. Glad you like the photos!

Bye, love, hugs etc as appropriate to all
